Vocational Case Management:
An individualized, custom program of vocational services designed to aid the injured worker in developing skills needed to return to gainful employment or achieve successful vocational rehabilitation.
Services include:
- vocational counseling meetings
- job seeking and retention skills training
- job search and development
Assessment Only:
Comprehensive evaluation of the worker’s current vocational potential, given the interruption of employment due to work-related injury. A one-time meeting with a written report within 10 working days.
Labor Market Survey:
Written report detailing available employment opportunities and the injured worker’s wageearning
capacity within their labor market. Employability is determined through an injured worker interview that focuses on educational, employment and medical histories, and assessment of transferable skills.
Job Analysis:
Conducted through job site visits to identify essential tasks for a specific job. This involves observing: physical demands, task frequency and duration, techniques, materials, work environment and any potential hazards. A written report is provided for physician review.
Ergonomic Assessment (ERG):
A certified ergonomic assessment specialist examines the workspace and processes to improve fit between worker and work station.
Extended Occupational Assessment (EOA):
Depending on the nature and severity of the injury an EOA may be necessary to complete a comprehensive assessment of vocational potential. May require extra time and research. Report will include recommendations about potential employability.
Highway to Success (H2S):
A 30-day program with daily contact with the worker. Contact may be telephonic, in person or through electronic communication. Highly motivated individuals with computer literacy are the best candidates.
Vocational Impact Program (VIP):
When predictable time and costs are needed. Initial assessment and nine meetings for counseling, job seeking skills and retention training, and job search. This may include telephone contacts between meetings.
Job Coaching (JC):
Case manager shadows workers through training and work assignments for a limited time. This helps ensure a successful return to work.
Vocational Expert Services for Litigation:
Our Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC) provide vocational expert opinions on the impact of the injury on wage earning capacity and employability. Our experts are able to pass the Daubert test at trial and offer consistent and credible testimony.
When it’s Time To Call a Vocational Expert:
- To provide testimony during litigation involving workers’ compensation claims, employment law, divorce proceedings, or other legal/non-legal contexts.
- To evaluate access or loss of access to the labor market, and the impact of the injury on employability.
- To determine wage-earning capacity, transferable job skills, vocational aptitude and interest, and other vocational training needs.
Long Term Disability:
Our experienced vocational specialists are ready to assist with LTD vocational services for claimants to include vocational assessment, job placement, vocational evaluation, transferable skills analysis, and labor market surveys.
